Kenneth L. Westbrook, DDS, P. A.
252-726-5778

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and based off the Strong Recommendations from the ADA (American Dental Association) and the NC State Dental Board we will be rescheduling all non-emergent appointments beginning Today, March 17th-March 27th. As of now we will be available from 8am-12pm Tuesday-Thursday for emergency appointments only or on a day to day basis. We will also be working with limited staff during this time. If you have an emergency please call our office at 252-726-5778 and we will schedule you at a time during these hours, so that we can minimize the number of patients we see as well as the number of patients in our waiting room. Again, please call before visiting our office to ensure you can be seen during these times. Should you have an appointment after this date and our office is going to be closed longer a member of our staff will contact you.

We recommend any elderly patients or those with underlying health conditions reschedule their appointments for a later date.

We ask that you DO NOT visit our office for ANY reason if you or a family member (including caregivers) has experienced fever, a persistent cough, or other flu-like symptoms within the last two weeks. You can call our office and we will be happy to guide you as to what to do or when/if we can see you.

The health of our patients, our families, and our staff are our top priority. We will continue to keep a close eye on all recommendations made in the weeks to come.

Please do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions or concerns. If we are unavailable please leave a message and we will return your call in a timely manner. We also will have an emergency call system in place to assist you in case of an after hours emergency. Just call our office and follow the prompts.

We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. This is new territory for us all, but we promise to do all we can to be here for our patients as well as help keep our community safe.

Multiple Tooth Extractions

The removal of one or two teeth is a simple procedure. Extracting multiple teeth requires that the jawbone be shaped and removed to prepare for a denture. You may experience the following after a multiple tooth extraction procedure. Within two days, you will experience the maximum swelling both inside the mouth and possibly around the eye as well. The area around your eye may also become discolored, which may be alleviated by a warm compress. The muscles near the extraction site may become sore after surgery, causing a sore throat. This is normal as well as the corners of your mouth becoming dry and cracked from being stretched open during surgery. In most cases, you will have a follow up appointment with your dentist within 48 hours after surgery to discuss any post surgery symptoms that you are experiencing.
